Healthy Prospects
For the past three years, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has organised the highly successful Hong Kong International Medical & Health Care Fair. Building on the achievements of this well-received event, the HKTDC is organising a medical trade fair ¡V the HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair. This fair takes place in Hong Kong, Asia¡¦s leading medical hub due to its advanced technology and central geographical location. The fair runs at the convenient downtown location of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Common Direction for Device Development
Taking place alongside the fair is the 14th Asian Harmonization Working Party (AHWP) Meeting, bringing added value to your visit. AHWP is a non-profit regional body established in 1996 and which aims to forge a common direction for the harmonisation of medical device regulation in Asia. The meeting is taking place in Hong Kong to mark the city's evolution as a medical device regulatory hub. Visitors to the Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair will meet over 400 government officials and business executives from the AHWP¡¦s 16 member economies, who are involved in the medical device field, enabling them to find out more about medical device regulation in Asia.

The Time Is Right
The Chinese mainland government¡¦s announcement in April 2009 of a 850-billion yuan medical care system reform plan is leading to an increase in medical expenditure and the number of medical device licences being issued, creating many valuable business opportunities for the healthcare sector. The medical fair offers the perfect chance to make the most of this initiative.

Take Your Choice
The Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair is carefully arranged around special themed zones to enable you to pinpoint the suppliers and products that you are looking for, and to find distributors that can help you circulate your products in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.

The Medical Device zone is dedicated to the increasingly important role played by equipment in this sector. The zone includes equipment for which there is an increasing demand, such as laboratory, ophthalmologic and physiotherapy equipment.

The Medical Supplies and Disposables zone reflects the growing need for medical supplies required for the booming hospital and home-based long-term care sectors. The products featured include gloves, incontinence & stoma aids, and masks.

The Tech Exchange is the place for making vital connections between medical devices and supplies developers and businesses. If you have developed a medical device or product which you believe has strong commercial possibilities, this zone will enable you to meet suitable business entities who can help convert your developments into market-oriented products.
